Tickets: places, early bird, pay what you want and approval

For anyone who wants to offer more than one kind of ticket.

An event can have all the tickets you need: full price, concession, dinner, one ticket per day. Each with its own price, its own places and its own dates.

  1. In the event dashboard add a ticket and give it a clear name, for example “Entry” or “Student concession”.
  2. Under Ticket type choose free, paid or Pay what you want, with a suggested amount. On the right, the In plain words summary tells you how the ticket will work.
  3. Set the places, unlimited or limited, and how many people can sign up in a single booking.
  4. Choose when registrations open: straight away, on a set date (they open by themselves) or by hand with Open now.
  5. Under Who can register? choose Everyone, or Only people you approve if you want to decide who takes part.
  6. Drag the tickets into the order you want to show them in.

Early bird in two moves

  1. Create the “Early bird” ticket with the reduced price and a few places.
  2. On the full-price ticket, under Registrations open, choose When another ticket runs out and pick the early bird. As soon as the early bird sells out, the full price opens by itself.

Only people you approve

  1. On the ticket choose Only people you approve and, if you like, write the message for people not accepted: you write it once and it goes to everyone.
  2. People who want to come fill in the form and send you a request. Asking is free and takes no place: requests close when no places are left.
  3. In Manage attendees, under To handle, press Approve or Decline, or select several requests and use Approve selected.
  4. Free ticket: the people you approve get their ticket straight away. Paid: they get a link to pay and the place is theirs for 48 hours, with a single reminder after 24 hours.

Good to know

  • Registrations close at 23:59 the day before the event, or whenever you decide, and in any case when the places run out.
  • Whoever opens the form has their place held for 10 minutes, plus another 10 to pay for paid tickets: Smappo never sells more places than there are. Requests on tickets with approval, instead, hold no place.
  • With pay what you want, everyone gives at least €2 (£2 in the UK). Discount codes and Ambassadors don't apply to these tickets.
  • You can pause a ticket and resume it whenever you like.
