SUPPORT
How can we help?
Answers to the most common questions, for people who organize events and people who attend them.
Registrations and tickets
Do I need an account to register for an event?
No: you can register as a guest, with your name and email. With an account you find all your events under “Events I'm attending” and you can ask Smappo for help.
I didn't receive the email with my ticket: what do I do?
- Wait a few minutes and check spam and the “Promotions” or “Updates” folders.
- Check you typed the right email: it's shown on the registration confirmation page.
- If someone booked for you, the tickets go to them (and to you only if they entered your email).
- If you registered with your account, you'll find it under My tickets.
If you still can't find it, write to the organizer: their contacts are on their page, linked from the event page.
Where is my ticket?
In the confirmation email: the ticket is attached as a PDF, with the QR code to show at the entrance (on your phone is fine, no need to print it). For online events, the same email has the link to join.
I registered several people: how do they get their tickets?
Each person has their own ticket with their own QR. All tickets come to you; if you entered someone's email, they get theirs too. You can forward each person their PDF.
What does “Place held for you for...” mean?
While you fill in the form, Smappo holds your place for 10 minutes. If time runs out you can still confirm, as long as places are left. During payment your place stays reserved for the time shown.
I registered as a guest: can I link my registrations to my account?
Yes. Under My tickets Smappo offers the guest registrations made with your account's email. If you used another email, enter it: we'll send a link to confirm it's yours.
Payments
How can I pay?
By credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and, where available, other methods Stripe offers in your country. You pay on Stripe, inside the event page: neither Smappo nor the organizer sees your card details.
Who am I buying the ticket from?
From the event's organizer, who is the seller: you see their name before paying. Smappo provides the ticketing service on their behalf. For questions about the event, refunds or invoices, contact the organizer.
What are the “service fees”?
They're the costs of the payment and ticketing service. Some organizers include them in the price, others add them: then the price you see is all-inclusive and the summary shows how much they are.
How do I use a discount code?
Choose the ticket and, in the order summary, open “Have a discount code?”. Type the code, press “Verify” and the total updates. The code works only for the ticket it was created for.
My payment didn't go through: can I try again?
Yes. If the card was declined, try another card or method. If you went back to the form or the payment time ran out, you can start again even with the same email: the places become available again and nothing is charged until the payment is complete.
I was charged but didn't get my ticket.
Sometimes the confirmation arrives a few minutes after the payment: check spam too. If after an hour you still have nothing, write to the organizer with the email you used and the date of the payment. If you have a Smappo account you can also open a request in the Registrations and tickets category.
Cancellations and refunds
How do I cancel my registration?
If the registration is free, open the link to manage it from the confirmation email and press “Cancel registration”. If you booked for several people, you can cancel one person at a time or the whole booking. You can do it until the event starts.
If you paid, cancelling and any refund are up to the organizer: write to them.
I paid: can I get a refund?
Refunds are decided and made by the organizer, according to their terms: Smappo can't refund in their place. When they refund, you get an email.
- if the service fees were shown separately, you get the ticket price back, without the fees;
- if they were included in the price, the refund is net of the payment handling costs.
The rule is shown to you before paying.
The event was cancelled: what happens now?
You get an email with the organizer's message, which is also on the event page. If you paid and the organizer chose to refund, you get another email with the refund amount. Otherwise ask them how they intend to proceed.
When does the refund reach my card?
Usually 5–10 business days after the refund email, depending on your bank. If you don't see it after 10 business days, check with your bank quoting the refund date.
Didn't find the answer?
